I oppose violence in the South East. -Kanu
Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra who is now in detention, has disassociated himself from the violence occurring in the southeast region of the nation.
He promised that no one would be spared for instigating violence in the guise of being an IPOB member.

Kanu, who was denied bail on Tuesday, spoke in Abuja as soon as the court adjourned.
He mentioned that once he was under the Department of State Services’ care, the assault continued.
If Kanu was freed, he promised, there would be harmony across the Southeast.
“Anyone committing crime cannot go free,” he declared. I promise. In the east, no one who commits a crime may escape punishment. I am under the DSS’s care, which is why they are doing this. This is something no one could try if I were outdoors. I have a suspicion that certain government officials are collaborating. Because of the uncertainty, they are profiting.
They are aware that this foolishness would end in two minutes if Nnamdi Kanu is outdoors. When I speak, who will be the liar or bagger who speaks? Who is the moron who believes that I will issue an order in the East that will counter it? No one is able to. Nnamdi Kanu is who I am.
“They are aware that anyone engaging in any kind of violence in the East under the guise of IPOB is doomed. In two minutes, when I emerge from this disaster, the East will be at peace.
